The principals of McLaughlin Water Engineers have led or played a significant role in the design and successful completion of over 550 projects during the last four decades. They have worked together an average of 20 years and share the same principles for success – Engineering excellence will result through a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical experience, honesty, and a rigorous work ethic combined with a willingness to listen and truly understand the needs and goals of the client.
Ronald E. Dvorak, P.E. - President
Ronald Dvorak has over 25 years experience specializing in water and wastewater related projects. His experience includes the preparation of master plans, final designs, technical specifications, bid documents and construction management. In addition, Mr. Dvorak's experience includes the design of transmission and distribution pipelines, water supply and treatment facilities, pump stations, storage facilities, wastewater collection pipelines, wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University.
Terrence P. Kenyon, P.E. - Vice President
With over 25 years experience, Terrence P. Kenyon has an extensive background in civil and environmental engineering. During his career he has been the principal in charge, project manager or principal designer for many water and wastewater treatment projects. In addition, he has authored numerous master plans, including water facility plans, and has a strong background in utility systems planning, design and construction management. As a former plant operator, Mr. Kenyon has expertise in plant operability design, as well as plant operations and start-up. Mr. Kenyon holds a B.S. in Public Health Science from New York State University and a M.S. in Civil-Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Richard E. McLaughlin, P.E. - Vice President
Richard E. McLaughlin's experience spans over 20 years and is chiefly in water resources and environmental engineering, with specialization in recreational water facility design, drainage engineering, river restoration, multi-use (recreational and drainage) facilities, closed circuit flow, pipeline and diversion design, hydrology and hydraulics. He has been the principal designer, project manager or principal in charge of many projects, including the 1996 Olympic Whitewater Venue on the Ocoee River in Polk County, TN and the Adventure Sports Center in Deep Creek, MD. Mr. McLaughlin holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University and a M.S. in Water Resources Engineering from Stanford University.
Ronald C. McLaughlin, P.E.
With more than 40 years experience, Ronald C. McLaughlin has been a visionary in our business and a founding partner in several successful firms, including Wright McLaughlin Engineers, McLaughlin Water Engineers and McLaughlin Rincón, Ltd. During his extensive career, Mr. McLaughlin has been the principal designer for hundreds of successful projects. His specialties include cold weather wastewater treatment facilities, water and wastewater system master planning, utility economics, and utility policies, rules and regulations. He holds a B.S. with honors in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a M.S. in Sanitary Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
R. James McLaughlin, P.E.
Mr. McLaughlin has over 25 years experience in water and wastewater treatment plant design, hydroelectric facilities design, pipeline design, process design, structural design and project management. He also has expertise in technical report writing, specifications, master plan reports and permit applications. As a resourceful "out of the box" thinker, Mr. McLaughlin is the firm's specialist in the area of reverse osmosis membranes and was part of a team that was awarded a 1991 patent for an innovative heavy metals removal process he jointly developed. Mr. McLaughlin holds a B.S. with honors in Civil Engineering and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
G. Dean Derosier, P.E.
Mr. Derosier has over 25 years civil engineering experience with the majority in the areas of water and wastewater treatment. He is the manager of the McLaughlin Water Engineers' office in Aspen, Colorado. In addition, he has engineering, design, contract administration and construction phase responsibilities for various water districts, sanitation districts, towns and homeowner associations in the Roaring Fork Valley. Mr. Derosier holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
Aaron K. Asquith, P.E.
Mr. Asquith has over 8 years project experience in the areas of storm, water and sanitary pipeline design, surveying, materials testing, grading and site plans, hydrologic evaluations, and construction phase services. He has served as a construction inspector and project engineer for a number of projects in Wyoming, South Dakota and Colorado. In addition, he has prepared permit applications, field surveys and construction documents. Mr. Asquith holds a B.S. and a M.S. in Civil Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
Melanie S. Asquith, P.E.
Ms. Asquith has over 10 years of project experience as a Project Engineer/Manager and Construction Manager. Her project experience has included design of both Water and Wastewater Treatment processes. She has also designed water storage tanks, transmission / distribution lines, radon removal systems, wastewater lift stations, water and wastewater master planning, and has performed Master Plan computer modeling for Lafayette, Green Mountain Water and Sanitation District, Mt. Werner Water and Sanitation District, Gillette, Green River, and Fort Morgan. She has also performed wastewater laboratory testing and over 150 environmental assessments for missile deactivations. Ms. Asquith holds a M.S. in Civil Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a B.S in Civil Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
Alexander S. Gorsevski, P.E.
Mr. Gorsevski has over 12 years of experience designing and managing the construction of projects including water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial buildings, water storage tanks, pump stations, storage ponds and water/sewer pipelines. Mr. Gorsevski has a strong interest in green building practices, following the requirements for LEED certified construction. He has earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering and Bachelor’s of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado
